Um Futuro Sustentável – cientistas do LS4FUTURE de mãos dadas pela saúde humana e ambiental
On November 24th, 2022, the LS4FUTURE organized an outreach event aiming to share with the lay audience how the different research projects being developed by the Associated Laboratory are hand-in-hand with the promotion of a Sustainable Future for our planet and humankind.
The online session “Um Futuro Sustentável – cientistas do LS4FUTURE de mãos dadas pela saúde humana e ambiental” was organized within the “Science and Technology Week” promoted by the Ciência Viva. On the National Day dedicated to the Scientific Culture, we invited our audience to find out how the different research projects developed by the LS4FUTURE laboratories are trying to find answers that can contribute to Sustainable Development, according to the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
The LS4FUTURE had the pleasure of welcoming four scientists from the different Partner Institutes:
Raffaella Gozzelino, from the Nova Medical School; Pedro Barros, from the ITQB NOVA; Teresa Serra, from the iBET; and Lounès Chikhi, from the IGC. Our researchers shared their projects demonstrating the diversity of the research areas developed with the LS4FUTURE Associated Laboratory and how they contribute to add knowledge to promote further the Sustainable Development Goals promoted by the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
This event aimed to promote one of the LS4FUTURE missions focused on bringing our science to the public, as it is in our belief that by informing about the basis and impact of scientific discoveries, we will be promoting the adoption of evidence-based political decisions.
