On September 25th, LS4FUTURE organised 2 sessions of the Workshop “Identify your Skills, CV & Cover Letter Writing” hosted by Chaperone.

This initiative is rooted in the LS4FUTURE mission to foster the career development of our community and to provide relevant tools for promoting its professional and personal growth.

We welcomed a full house in both 3-hour sessions composed by a diverse audience, from Research Assistants and Post-Docs to PhD students and Research Managers. Throughout this workshop, the participants were able to recognise the importance of identifying their personal values and skills and how they can be adjusted to several professional contexts. It also helped to increase awareness of the different transferable skills acquired during the academic formation as well as to learn some strategies for writing an eye-catching CV tailored to specific roles.

By offering a successful learning and inspirational experience, this workshop represented an opportunity for professional development within our community, providing the context for the exchange of perspectives between the trainer and the participants on the key challenges encountered when identifying the competencies required in both academic and non-academic working settings.
