NOVA Medical School was one of the big supporters of the Be Open About Research Day (#BOARD23), which took place on June 15th and was promoted by the European Animal Research Association (EARA). NMS was one of the institutions sharing exclusive content during that day was recently highlighted on the latest EARA Weekly Newsletter, which reaches over 4000 subscribers, and the EARA website itself as an example of success of the initiative.

Gulbenkian hosts EMERALD Summer School – EMERALD is an International PhD Programme for Medical Doctors that trains and nurtures the next generation of physician-scientists. The first specialized European-wide PhD program trains 23 medical doctors from 17 nationalities to develop a PhD in cutting-edge research in 7 research institutes from 6 EU member states and 37 partner organizations. The IGC, a partner of the project and host of 3 fellows, held the 2nd edition of the EMERALD Summer School, which forms an integral part of the advanced and specialized training for the fellows.

iBET’s researchers joined the 50 participants who attended the annual general assembly of the European consortium ARDAT – Accelerating Research and Development for Advanced Therapies – held on June 15-16th in Coimbra, Portugal. The main goal of this EU Consortium is to provide the knowledge, tools and standards needed to accelerate the research and development of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs).

ITQB NOVA opened the first phase of applications for the PhD Programmes in Molecular Biosciences (MolBioS) and Plant Sciences (Plants for Life) until August 14th.
MolBioS fills the gap between molecules and living systems, training students in molecular approaches needed to understand the mechanisms of life. The international PhD Programme Plants for Life trains researchers in plant sciences to address key biological questions related to plant growth and development. The second phase of applications takes place from October 16th-31st.
